On Easter, I put in a last second low bid for a used Samantha doll, and won! I was going to give her to my BFF's DD since she wants a Sam so much. Well she came in the mail today, and SURPRISE! She's a Molly! The great part, is that I've been wanting a Molly! I have never bonded with my WB Molly, but the second this darling came out of the box, she was mine!!! Not only that, she's pre-mattel, and turned out to be in great condition! She was filthy, and her hair was a rat's nest, but after some scrubbing and brushing, she's looking fabulous. She's got wonderful soft vinyl with hardly a mark on her, and her wig is full and uncut! She does need to be restrung, and someone used a highlighter to give her a Harry Potter scar on her forehead. I've got some Oxy on hand, but for right now it's not that noticeable, and her bangs cover it. After that, she'll be good as new! Here's her album with some before and after shots! I'm so happy!!!!

She's beautiful; great job on cleaning her up! (That's awful that someone took a marker to her, but I kind of laughed a bit; I wonder what the kid who had her make-believed; maybe Molly used to be Harry's long-lost sister or something? Or if she was meant to be Harry, it's a good thing the kid stopped short of a haircut. )

i bet the kid figured that marker would come right off. I was never one to write on things (other than paper), but I can see how a kid might think of a haircut being permanenet but marker being removable.

Great job, she is a beautiful doll now!!! How much did you pay for her? I have seen many ebay auctions in which the sellers think they have a Samantha and they have a Molly. Are you going to restring her or are you going to send her to the AG hospital? If you are going to try to restring her by yourself, please post pictures

Wow! She's so pretty!!!
I know you will LOVE her!!! It seems like some sellers will call anything a Samantha sometime.
The auction listing where I got Hope (our cancer patient doll) said that she was Samantha with a haircut! NOT!
She has gray eyes and med brown hair. So either a Molly or a retired AGOT!!!! We LOVED her at first sight! So.....we know just what you mean.
I've always been one of those that compares dolls in stores to pick just the right face. I know they're all suppose to be just alike but, they aren't. I'm thinking that's why some people have a harder time bonding with certain dolls and then find it easy with another.
Just a thought!
Enjoy your new girl, she precious!
